- India Gate
Also known as the Delhi Memorial, this is a “welcome gate” located in the heart of New Delhi. India Gate is similar to the Arc-de-Triomphe in France. India Gate is approximately 42 meters tall. It was originally as a memorial to honor the Indian soldiers who died during World War I and the Third Anglo-Afghan War. Under the arch of the gate is a flame to mark the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
India is known for its many beautiful and sacred Hindu temples. One of the grandest ones is Akshardham, also called Delhi Akshardham or Swaminarayan Akshardham. This temple is a symbol of culture and spirituality, as well as the architectural splendor of Hinduism and India. The temple has a complex design with many reliefs, roofs, and small pillars that are part of the temple. It is said that this temple was built by 10,000 people consisting of 7,000 primary workers and 3,000 volunteers. The temple also has several other attractions like Yogi Hraday Kamal, which is a park in the shape of a lotus flower.
- Qutub Minar
Qutub Minar is the second tallest minar in India, standing 73 meters tall. It is part of the Qutb Complex, an UNESCO World Heritage Site. The tower is made of red sandstone and marble, and is decorated Arabic calligraphy. This tower is part of the Quwwatul-Islam mosque, the oldest mosque in Delhi.
- National Museum, New Delhi
This is one of the largest museums in India, established in 1949. The museum has over 200,000 pieces. There are several collections, including archaeology, art, jewelry, and anthropology.
- Shankar’s International Dolls Museum
This museum holds a collection of international dolls. The museum was founded K. Shankar Pillai, a political figure. There are dolls from every country in the world. If you are taking a family vacation with little girls, then this is a great place to visit!
- Garden of Five Senses
According to the Delhi Tourism Transportation Development Corporation, the Garden of Five Senses is not just a park, but is a space with a variety of activities, inviting interaction and exploration. The park is approximately 20 acres and has a beautiful view with hundreds trees arranged to produce a unique shape. Moreover, the streets throughout the park are decorated with colorful flowers. The middle section of the park has a pond with a fountain.
