Concerned about how you will be effected by the ACA overseas?
Now that we’ve had some months to let all the hype, problems and questions get addressed regarding Obamacare or the Affordable Care Act, what do you need to know? How does it impact travel overseas or living overseas as an expatriate? We don’t have all the answers yet and some have been delayed for another year or so, but we can recommended two essential PPACA/ACA overseas resources for international businesses and multi-national organizations below:
1.) The ACA International Health Insurance Page at Good Neighbor Insurance
Frequent updates to this ACA health information resource for international travelers, addressing issues that specifically address those with overseas employees, or who live or travel overseas.

Sample question addressed:
“Our family is from California and we live and work in Thailand. We are on the _____ plan long-term. We intend to return to the U.S. for 2 months this coming summer and don’t have a U.S. health insurance plan (since we don’t live there). Will our plan still cover our family in case we have an emergency and need to go to urgent care/the doctor?”

They monitor the factual accuracy of what is said by major U.S. political players in the form of TV ads, debates, speeches, interviews and news releases. Their goal is to apply the best practices of both journalism and scholarship, and to increase public knowledge and understanding. While most of their information doesn’t directly address the ACA overseas, it is valuable and unbiased information for business owners and decision-makers.
