GoPro: Makers of The World’s Most Versatile Cameras
An introduction and GoPro 3 Camera review from the co-owner of Good Neighbor Insurance, Doug Gulleson:
There are times in one’s life when a new technology or idea just blows us away. Well, that is how it was with me when I first got a hold of the Go Pro 3 Camera.
My story: I found out about Go Pro cameras at my local dive shop in Mesa, Arizona. I am a big-time (novice) underwater photographer and started chatting with the very knowledgeable staff at El Mar Dive Center. Well, I went in to order a couple dive items, and by the time I left the Go Pro 3 camera was on that list.
I knew I wanted this camera even before I did any additional research: I was looking for a “video-type” platform where I could record my dives, while I used my underwater camera for still shots. I know there are some video clips that would catch cool things I was missing. But I also know that stills don’t tell the whole story, so a video would help me share “the rest of the story,” as Paul Harvey would say.
The next week I logged into my YouTube account and was wowed by all the cool videos others were making with the GoPro, especially related to adventure sports. For sure I have a lot to learn before my videos will look like the ones getting thousands of hits on YouTube, but I am already excited by this challenge.
So when my dive shop told me all of my new “dive toys’ were in, I was stoked. Catch our future blogs about me using and having fun with this new toy. I purchased the Go Pro 3 Plus and the head harness so I can lock it in place on my forehead when scuba diving. And stay tuned for some cool videos from the Go Pro that this underwater novice photographer will be creating!

A number of the guests who purchase travel insurance, through Good Neighbor Insurance, enjoy extreme and adventure sports. We get many clients who motocross here in the U.S. and throughout the world. We also have clients who are climbing or trekking in the Himalayas and request strong sports travel insurance.
We have made the Go Pro company one of our trusted partners here at Good Neighbor Insurance. Go Pro embraces a similar professional work ethic that we do here at GNI. They provide a top notch product that provides superb benefits for their clients who can share their joys of that sport (or many sports) with the world. Isn’t it cool to share your passion with those near and far? In fact, Go Pro goes one step further and provides almost a 1st person experience because you do feel like you are there feeling the snow swirl around you as you fly down a mountain or reach out and touch the shark on the Go Pro video that divers are sharing.
Thank you, Go Pro, for making a superb product, and allowing all the world to see and enjoy the extreme and adventure sports that I enjoy so much, up close and personal.
Cheers to the Go Pro Team and their stellar future! I know it’s going to be exciting!
