Vietnam is officially known as the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (Cộng hòa xã hội chủ nghĩa Việt Nam). Thanks to the Vietnam War, many people think of Vietnam as a mysterious, and somewhat dangerous, place. But if you were to actually go, you would fall in love with its beautiful scenery and culture. Here are some places you need to include in your visit:
- Terraced Rice Paddies in Sapa
Most Asian countries have rice paddies. But if you want to see their beauty while exercising, you can visit the terraced rice paddies in Sapa, a town in northern Vietnam. In Sapa, you can hike through the mountains and enjoy the fresh air and see the beautiful terraced rice paddies.
- Ho Tay Lake (West Lake)
Besides the beauty of its land, Vietnam has beautiful lake called Ho Tay Lake, in Hanoi. Hanoi is the capital of Vietnam and the second largest city. Hanoi’s nickname is “The city of 1000 Lakes.” Ho Tay Lake is one of the largest lakes, covering an area more than 400 acres, and surrounded by giant limestone rocks. The lake is surrounded by gardens, villas and hotels.
- White Sand Dunes, Mui Ne
Not inferior to Sahara are the White Sand Dunes of Mui Ne, which is in Binh Thuan province. The dunes take up an area of around 50 hectares and are 10 meters tall. You can freely explore the sand dunes. There are boys who sell plastic sleds, but they don’t hold much weight, so better to just hike. From the top of the dunes there are nice views of the coast. Besides the sand dunes, Mui Ne also has beautiful beaches.
- Halong Bay
Halong Bay is one of Vietnam’s most well-known attractions and is listed as an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Halong Bay is large, with an area about 1500 km2 that filled with many beautiful islands. There are small wooden boats to take you around the bay and into caves that are lit so you can see the beauty of the caves more clearly. The boat ride lasts around 3 hours, and then it will take you back to land.
- Da Lat
Da Lat region has pine forests with classical-style buildings, making Da Lat look like a city in Europe. Da Lat even has a mock Eiffel Tower! The beauty of Da Lat makes it popular as a destination for honeymoons.
